THE BEST INGREDIENTS FROM TRADITION.
Everything that the monk needs to live, he should be able to make between the monastery walls. This is what St. Benedict once said: said, done! That is why our Benedictine beers are still brewed according to the original Benedictine recipe, with the Ettal cellar yeast and under the supervision of the monks - but not only in the Ettal monastery, but also in the traditional Licher private brewery.
The Ettaler cellar yeast.
The Ettaler cellar yeast gives our Benedictine beers their very special character and the unique fruity-tingling taste.
The Benedictine original recipe.
In 1609 the brewery was established in the monastery Ettal. Since then, the Benedictine beers are brewed according to the Benedictine original recipe.
The brewing party.
The master brewers and monks of the Ettal monastery hold the brewing station regularly. They control the brewing process of our Benedictine beers in the Licher private brewery. This is how we make sure that our Benedictine beers are brewed according to the Benedictine principles.
During the brewing station, the Benedictine monks and master brewers use the monk glass to check the quality of our wheat beers. The result: a special treat.
